Here is a note from our local Holiday Island Rotary
Holiday Island Rotary has had the good fortune to be able to send 12-14 year old boys and girls to 5 mile camp in Quapaw Oklahoma for the last three years.
The camp is funded by a private foundation, so there is no cost to the parents, and little or none to your club.
The camp is especially helpful for at-risk children. They are assigned a horse on the first day which they care for during the week while developing or improving riding skills culminating in a Saturday evening rodeo.
A challenge course involving supervised traversal and wall climbing is encouraged. An Olympic size pool and boating on 5 mile creek is provided along with nature study and crafts.
If your club would like to know more and consider participation, we will do our best to assist you in any way we can. We have a DVD, to lend to those interested, which provides more details regarding the camp. The camp would like us to coordinate increased rotary participation.
