The Holiday Island Fire Department Auxiliary (HIFDA) has been in existence since 1976.  The membership consists of over 200 women whose sole purpose is to promote the effectiveness of the Holiday Island Fire Department.  Because of their efforts, the Holiday Island Fire Department is currently the only state-of-the-art volunteer fire department in Northwest Arkansas. It is a comforting feeling to know that we have the finest Fire Department in the area, and that the Auxiliary plays a significant role in maintaining this standard. 

Living in a rural area, the health and safety of our people is of the utmost concern.  We are proud of the Holiday Island Fire Department’s quick and competent response to medical emergencies and fire protection.  The first residents of Holiday Island had a fire rating of 12.  Over the years, with the work and support of the Auxiliary, the fire rating is a 5.  This significant accomplishment translates not only to the safety and protection of our community, but also monetarily benefits us by directly lowering homeowner’s insurance rates for residents and property owners.

This is all made possible by the financial support of the Holiday Island Fire Department Auxiliary through fundraisers.  The members are always looking for ways to make additional money to keep our Fire Department well trained and well equipped.
